The Controller is Never Satisfied

temptsThen the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. “Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” (Luk 4:5-7 NKJ)

Jesus responds by rebuking the Devil, putting him in his place—behind him. The Devil, the ultimate controller, would never be satisfied with what you had to offer.  Your worship would never be good enough.

On a personal level, the controller gives you the impression that whatever you do for them is never good enough, that you are always falling short. This makes the victim feel indebted and obligated to continue to try harder to please, satisfy and serve. I fell short of the glory of God, but God made a way, through his love
