Therefore, we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, (Heb 2:1-3 NKJ)
Then God spoke all these words: I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. (Exo 20:1-2 CEB)
The Torah was spoken by the assistance of angels. When it is said, Exodus 20:1 , “God spoke,” it is meant He spoke by angels as His mouthpiece, or at least angels repeating in unison with His voice the words of the Law. The message of the Gospel, however, was delivered by God himself in the form of human flesh, by Jesus.
Hebrews asks a very important question, “how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation.” We will have no excuse.
