Going Deeper in God

big macTherefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (Heb 6:1-2 NKJ)

The average Bible is 9”x6”x1 7/8”, not much really when you consider Leo Tolstoy’s ‘War and Peace’ is in three volumes. But, remember Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful. It is more mysterious than Harry Potter, more romantic and loving than ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Brontë, contains more historical accounts of God’s dealing with man and it the greatest story of love and self-sacrifice ever told.  In fact, the Word of God will take you deeper, higher, and farther than you have ever been, but you’ve got to be willing to take the journey.

Too many Christian’s including preachers are happy to regurgitate the basics over and over again.  Even though it is cloaked in spirituality, milk is still milk.  A baby drinking milk is wonderful; it even looks cute.  However, an adult drinking milk from the same bottle they had as a babe is just plain weird. As an adult, we should leave the milk and go on to the meat.  God has so much for us, but for some, they are too lazy to chew for themselves. It’s time to go deeper in God.
