Hear what the Spirit is Saying.

wisdom2My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.  (Pro 2:1-9 NKJ)

Noise everywhere! Information, news, blogs, comments, and opinions everywhere. It seems as though we’re on information overload, and when you turn to the sources, you should be able to trust you just find more noise. What should we do? Proverbs 2 gives us instruction.

“My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you So that you incline your ear to wisdom.” In Isaiah 11 we see the traits of the Holy Spirit, “Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” (Isa 11:2 NKJ)

Seven times in Revelation we’re told, “ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.  (Rev 2:7 NKJ) According to Proverbs and Revelation, we would do well to listen to the Holy Spirit.
